And what about the 9 mill buy order that was left unfilled after the auction. Surely that 9 mill will need to be bought up tomorrow morning ? Or have I got the wrong idea of how this rebalance works?

I really cant find anything specic to the all ords - Its just a general observation from me after years of watching price and volume moves around option expiry and index rebalance days - Some stocks are hardly affected others have more significant moves - either way it normally returns to the staus quo after a couple of days
