so, if i ïnvested"once and sold that investment prior to the 12mth period, id be subject to the 50% CGT
but, if i held longer than 12mths, id be eligible for the "discounted CGT", .................. Agreed ?
but, if i "bought and sold multiple stocks over the FY, with the goal of making money, ( ie a business income)
then id be classed as a trader............Agreed?
Now, ........ do i need a ABN to be classed as a trader?
And, ....... are you talking about, "regularly selling"the SAME stock, or ANY stock?
in my veiw there is a different tax rate applied to each, ......... it just depends on whether the ATO veiw you as a trader, or not,
And, if i was classed as a "trader", then i believe my tax rate would be at my assessed %,
A grey area that a "good accountant"would be best to advise, .................. cheers
