As indicated Van Eck is currently indicated to hold around 70m AVZ shares. MVIS has now published its new index weightings for this quarter and these are as below. How Van Eck handles this reweighting remains to be seen. Not sure how Van Eck has managed to reduce its holding in AVZ over the past few days with the stock suspended but perhaps as off market transfers at price not known at this time. There might be an unfriendly party prepared to take Van Ecks 70m AVZ shares in off market transfers at the current time. Van Eck would appear to have offloaded around 800,000 AVZ shares between 8th and 9th of June so all I can say is proceed with care.
