The 1982 movie Mother Lode is an adventure thriller film directed by and starring Charlton Heston. It was written and produced by his son Fraser Clarke Heston. The film also stars Nick Mancuso and Kim Basinger as a gold-hunting couple.The film is set in the wilderness of British Columbia. A couple of young adventurers, Nick and Terry, go into the wilderness in search of a lost colleague. Their plane crashes and they find themselves at the mercy of a crazed old Scottish miner, Silas McGee, who has lived in isolation for many decades searching the mountain caves for a chamber of long lost gold.Silas takes Nick and Terry hostage and forces them to help him find the mother lode. The three of them embark on a dangerous journey through the mountains, where they must contend with wild animals, treacherous terrain, and Silas's own deranged behavior.

The film was a critical and commercial disappointment, but it has since developed a cult following.

Reminds me of the Lang Hancock story, flying over the Pilbara and spotted from the plane shimmering iron ore sticking out of the ground. The following few weeks he went and pegged Hope Downs and Roy Hill.

I pretty much built Roy Hill mine and rail to Port contracted to Samsung CT in 2011 to 2013. It was my time there and many drinks onsite with the Geo's that got me into small cap explorers.
