My gut feeling is that some of the timelines slipped due to some interest shown by a potential strategic partner or receipt of a takeover offer.
I recon there has also been some discussion with some active shareholders about approach - 100% exploration to fatten the MC vs an early MRE.
I've been critical of adherence to timelines in the past but think maybe now some leeway is due.
