We know Storm exploration Camp is operational and ramping up for the influx of exploration geologists, camp admin (kitchen & support staff, maintenance personnel) and drill rig operators. The geophysics activities may have begun (dragging EM wires around the snow-capped copper fields) and drill rigs are getting pre-starts, mechanical servicing and beginning to rotate at high-priority targets.
Meanwhile, an Independant geologist, the architect of the upcoming Canadian 43-101 report is at Somerset Island camp inspecting core and confirming compliance of procedures for quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) matters. While the final tonnage may differ slightly from the Australian JORC report due to technical classifications, the future shines bright for Storm.
Here's where things get truly intriguing. A recent comment from CEO.CA overnight indicates Tom Ullrich is alluding to "something is brewing back of scene"?
- Are we going to see corporate action at Aston Bay Holding relating to third parties wanting into our Arctic "Congo" Copper project?
- Is a revised Joint Venture partnership on the cards to assist with financing further development? Considering Rio Tinto, Glencore, Newmont and BHP have been active in early Mergers & Acquisition deals for anything copper (consuming Turquoise Hill, Teck, Newcrest & Oz Minerals) shows the strong appetite in this space for copper projects. Support for copper explorers who may become the next generation of copper mines could be on the cards given the traditional long development timelines observed. Storm's Direct Shipment Ore blueprint could be the drawcard for accelerated development the majors are looking for?
- Is a downstream customer such as a Metal Trader or Copper Smelter wanting DSO material as soon as possible given the pending global copper concentrate shortage?
The list goes on for possible back room deal activities, but strategically with severe copper shortages on the horizon and the copper price increasing, it is all pointing towards future corporate activity at BAY or even AW1 to get a piece of this geopolitical safe copper province while it is still cheap!!
