That is not the definition of lying at all. If you tell your partner you will be home by 3pm but then get caught up in traffic, were involved in accident, hell any number of things beyond your control and end up home at 3.30, your saying that meant you were lying in the first instance??
lying is to be deliberately deceitful or untrue. Posters on this forum who are requoting what the MD said are not lying. The date to which was mentioned by the MD has turned out to be erroneous and i would imagine through circumstance rather than intentionally
