What a great video on Kamoa-Kakula, some fascinating points on lithographies, key controls and mineral zones associated with Sedimentary copper orebodies. All very relevant for Storm exploration activities.

The main points I found interesting related to George Gilchrist comments on,

Pyrite (Iron Sulphides) acting a reductants for copper rich fluids, when the fluids hit the pyrite zone then the copper sulphides mineralise (or precipitates from the solution phase). The sulphide species can be enriched from Pyrite to Chalcopyrite to Bornite and Chalcocite in the mineral zones.

Faulting concentrates the fluids, hence faults help bring the fluids up to the pyritic sequence.

George mentioned the distribution of copper remains fundamentally controlled by the interplay of hydrologic and redox architecture associated with 1/ Aquifers, 2/ Grabens, 3/ Structural conduits, and 4/ Fluid flow. All features at Storm we are only beginning to learn about thanks to geological mapping, geophysics and the drilling programs.

As noted from the latest AW1 exploration news, the SR24-01 drill hole based on FLEM and shallow MLEM (0-250 metres) geophysics data only found traces of pyrite. Hence suggesting a deeper target may exist based on the original FLEM survey. It sounds like AW1 will now configure the MLEM for deeper surveying to see what is producing the deeper anomaly signature or potential deeper sedimentary copper zone. Diamond Drilling will need to explore this hypothesis.
