I will not accept that. Every person has the choice as to whether they live an ethical exitance or not. Nick chose to live well outside the boundary of what most people would deem to be within the realm of moral decency.
A lot of people blame themselves for being sucked in - but they live in a moral world where it is expected that people act with honesty and integrity.
They have the right to expect this. Our society relies on honesty to function properly - and a huge majority of people manage to live within those boundaries.
He did not. He is an unashamed liar, he has no consideration for anybody else no matter how much trouble he causes. He lived a life of deception and dishonesty. He made that choice - nobody forced him.
By any definition, he is a bad person.
