    The little jibe by watso the other day about any alluvial gold mining opearations prompted me to start a bit of research.

    And, though I have only panned through a few possibilities I have had a few flashes of "colour" as it were.

    Now admittedly at the moment these are not actual operations. But the first shovel or two has turned up some interesting material.

    For example :
