Chief executive, Andrew Lindberg, said the new facilities were part of the group's efficiency strategy, "Growers can expect savings of approximately $2 to $3 per tonne on the combined up country storage and handling fee and the rail deduction to port."

AWB said it was committed to reducing supply chain costs for wheat growers.

Shares in AWB are trading at $4.19, up three cents.
