The cynic in me sees the possibility of S32 leaking that bit of info out to gauge market reaction. If the reaction is positive, go for it. If the reaction is negative, back off.
Taking over a $5 billion company would pretty well rule out any other opportune purchases for a good while. Therefore, it would need to be something that is desirable to us shareholders as well as accepted as a positive by the financial press.
