Dice.IMO this was a fishing trip.
My reasons for this are many, firstly it appears to be a very low ball merger/offer,one that many will say had no chance of being taken seriously.
Why take this action? to gain info on what all the analyst recon these cos are worth(free)
Could also to be to show possible T/O predators that they have other options available to ward off said predators.
Gain info of s/h thoughts of a merger and what they would expect from any mergers.
Bring exposure to the industry.
Like what they see for the future of shale.
