Someone mentioned that the Chairman owns 30% of the company and he votes to retain the current CEO then the other 70% of the voters would need to achieve greater than 50% of the vote.

That means the remaining 70% would have to vote 71.5 % to vote the CEO out.

If you factor those that don’t vote it probably becomes greater than 71.5 % to vote out the CEO.
