Interesting ... didn't know about it. I imagine most would simply sell out of a stock, wait a few weeks, then buy back if they're really that attached ... be very hard to prove intent.
I think it's one of those burning bushes that the tax office puts up to scare people, but don't actually bother enforcing.
All the small investors (and they're largely small parcels being sold off) .. . it'd cost the ATO too much to argue intent with them all ...
