the major difference is on the other side of the transaction. who receives the cash you pay for those shares:
a) a shareholder on the market.
b) the company via the SPP.
if you want your cash to go towards progressing the company’s R&D and potentially increasing the value of your existing holding the SPP is the way to do it. otherwise just buy on the market and hope that others contribute to support the company you are invested in.
the major difference is on the other side of the transaction....
