Quantum Brilliance use Nitrogen Vacancy Diamonds as their quantum material, made out of artificially made diamonds. Needs optical interconnects, is a bigger package.

AXE uses simpler carbon based qubit material that Mo has repeatedly said in recent times is nothing fancy, just simple carbon derivatives and at atomistic scales of manipulation to aid finding solutions to preserve coherence. And the read out of spin information is better integrated into current semiconductor architectures, HEMT,CMOS. In my opinion the metallic nature of the carbon nano material that AXE has developed could pave the way for using carbon semiconductor rather than silicon based semiconductors one day. Currently AXE is integrating carbon and silicon to integrate and work together in its 12CQ architecture. So I think AXE is running its own race to both tightly embed into existing silicon and allow for it to enter large scale fabrication. But also, there are other pathways that large foundries may get interested in when already they're hitting limits with silicon chip form factors. At some point you have to cross over from nanometers to atomistic scales, and from classical digital bits and bytes to quantum information processing, and from silicon to other novel materials. IMO AXE is staring at all these with its 12CQ R&D. It would be good if they collaborate with some groups who can help decide which of these to make a priority. So far the strategy and plan is to embed into silicon chips, sample of 4mm by 4mm has been done, how good a value proposition that is, is anyone's guess.

NVIDIA is flavour of the month, they happen to have the right chips to process the current state of AI and each of their units is insanely expensive and is going to force a look for cheaper solutions. AI itself is changing its deep learning models from neural networks to transformers and who knows into what next when quantum computation gets more mature.
