Yes, US debt is not the issue, it is the repayments that are the issue. They have a lot of debt at very low interest rates, however, debt has been rolling over at higher rates in recent years. Not sure what the critical point is, but it will have to be addressed. The Americans are very creative, they will find a way to kick the tin can down the road for another decade or 2
