Good to see that RM made some time for SI community engagement on Friday (hopefully he wasn't too dusty after the celebrations!)

Axiom KB has pledged to support the Kalaenga community school in Sepi Village in Isabel Province with a completion of a permanent classroom and a permanent chapel.
Axiom KB Chief Executive Officer Mr Ryan Mount made the pledge when he visited Sepi last Friday for a special thanksgiving service following the High Court ruling upholding Axiom KB’s registered lease and Prospecting Licence over Kolosori land, site of the Isabel nickel deposits.

Mr Mount said education and church were essential for intellectual and spiritual development, therefore Axiom KB would support the completion of the school’s classroom building and chapel building projects.

“We are looking forward to helping the school with its classroom building and chapel building needs,” Mr Mount said.

“We will speak with the school principal about the list of required building materials for the completion of these very important school projects.”

The classroom project was initially funded by the Japanese Government  but funding was not sufficient for completion. The initial construction of the new chapel building foundation work was funded by the Sepi community itself with money raised through fundraising drives.

School Chairman Moffet Pade expressed gratitude on behalf of the school to Axiom KB for their visit and the assistance pledged to the school.

“We are glad to have you here today to see for yourself the situation in our school and are grateful for your commitment to support our school and community,” Chairman Pade said.

School Principal Father Lot Bako said the completion of the permanent classroom building project would see the first permanent classroom building for the school’s secondary school students.

Father Bako said the school was pleased with the intervention by Axiom KB in these very important school projects and he looked forward to working together with the company for their completion.

Mr Pade and Father Bako are trustees in Axiom KB, a joint venture between Axiom Mining and the Kolosori and Bungusule tribes of Isabel Province.
