Lithium Sector Overview -

.From a weekly perspective, AZL had a forgettable week. A big drop from 0.9 to 0.6. All the gains towards 1.3 is now gone, not sure what prompted it, but gone, for now. Back to playing 0.6 and hoping 52 week low of 0.5 holds. Not good, but that's it.

Major price action indicators were down -

• ALB - loss of around 4%, last week gained 4%, before that lost 4% - so just flipping around rather than moving ahead
• Ganfeng - Gain of around 2% for week, Tianqi gain of around 4%
• PLS/LTR - PLS loss of 12%, LTR big loss of 22% - so back to back over 20% gains of LTR has now a big question mark
• Spot Price - Loss of over 2% for week, now a drop of 10% for the month

So what do these numbers say? The narrative around inconsistent play continues. I have been writing for several weeks that all jurisdictions (US/ASX/Chinese) need to go up together. No signs yet. The numbers I report every week, there is no consistency yet. Small gains followed by small losses. And then repeat. Spot price has been falling for several weeks now. 10% drop in a month is high, especially when at one stage it looked like it may have reached bottom. It may even lose the 6 in front of it the way its going. Last week there were some positives - LTR/CXO/AZL etc - none moved to next stage, instead now retreating. Very difficult to play the sector now in these condition.

Personally I have not been playing Li stocks. Some scalping, that's it. Gold sector is doing well last couple of years, a lazy play there would have earned a lot instead of seeing drop in portfolio. I am playing Uranium sector big now. I have got out of all my other plays and playing the sector. I have been writing extensively on U stocks, and I feel a big gain in the next few weeks. Sorry, that's my hope. But odds are not bad. You can read my posts on that sector on the stocks I am playing, and how it is somehow shaping up for a good one. I usually don't write other sectors in my report. But way U is going, one may hear next few weeks. So just giving a heads up. As always, no guarantee, we are all playing odds, so please dyor. I played the rise with some gain last 2 weeks on the rise. But the best part, I have a few million oppies looking like gone for money. One day someone picked up 50m. I was stunned. I had written it off. To be honest, I still made a loss on taht. Most oppies I had got out at break even, but this was last lot, few millions. I lost there, but happy to see it not going to the drain. And with some big rise recently where I played well, I think, I have weathered the storm I feel. I know so many are hurting in this sector, so its not about maximising now, but to salvage what you can. So now I finally don't hold any more, for now.

So what may happen next week? On Friday, US Li stocks had small loss. General markets moderate to big red. So a tentative to low start on Monday and then wait for Chinese play.
