It is like buy it now at a discount and pay for it later before expiry date. So if you buy 1m options for 3c. You will only pay $30,000 for them now. But after say 7 months when the share price potentially hit 30c for example and you want to convert the 1m option to real shares. You will need to pay for $120k to convert them into 1m shares. However it's a small price to pay because your 1m shares is now worth 30c per share. So your avg will be 15c per share. I hope this helps.
