What are the advantages of in situ leaching method of mining?

There are three principle advantages of ISL in comparison to conventional methods: (
1) reduced risk to operators by avoiding underground mining;
(2) stripping, mining and milling of the ore on the surface is unnecessary, which is a great advantage as it minimizes the burden of dealing with tailings;

BLM...Most likely accessing the potential damage of strip mining / or Situ mining........

Need to eradicate any risk to public sites......now Im understanding the complications of the BLM announcement..
