It sounds like you actually said something useful, even though it was an accident.
That to me sounds like lithium is in such a high demand that it cant be filled by current suppliers, so much so that a less efficient version will need to be used as a temporary patch fix until supply can meet demand.
sodium batteries are less efficient and will most likely never be used in EVs due to the cut in range.
