I was an early investor of Tesla. Multiple funding rounds.

Tesla has been at it in creating a new industry since 2003 (20 years). What they say and do today, goes. They have tried it all.

There are reasons why their vehicles are EVs not hydrogen-powered. There are reasons why they are building charging stations instead of battery swaps. There are reasons why they are investing in lithium mines not R&D on lithium extraction from the sea.

All companies, so far, who deviates away from what Tesla is doing has failed or failing or will fail. Why? Because Tesla having to think about "what does the future looks like?" since inception has studied it all and settled on the best option forward for each every question you can imagine through open source. Practically all their IPs are open source (except ones that they have no choice) that they dare send instructions manual to all other car companies in the world how to build 48-volt architecture (hence why all Chinese cars are Tesla copycats).
