AZL's PFS was based on ~99.4 "commercial grade" lithium carbonate. The recent increase of recoveries and impurity rejection has got that to 99.5%, scraping past battery grade cut-off. Does anyone really know the purity of the product used for the respective studies? How much purer is ASN's carbonate than AZL's? AZL sets the bar high when they say "battery grade". Any DLE project will also need to pay $2k+ per tonne to convert carbonate to hydroxide.
