Thanks for proving my point. In 2014 there were two proposed mines that were being blocked because (among other reasons) they were on lands considered sacred by Native Americans. Today, the same two mines are still being blocked, although opposition to Rosemont is mostly based on water and air pollution issues. BLM, incidentally, is not involved in Rosemont. You can read more details on the Wikipedia page, but "it has undergone a permitting review process under the direction of the United States Forest Service and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and has been delayed by legal judgements and suspension of its operating permit by the US Army Corps of Engineers."
