FMG are planning to build a 9GW/h battery storage system 120km south of Onslow for their green energy plan to reach its target of net zero carbon emissions. this will comprise of wind and solar farms that will generate enough power to run all its mines, which equates to about the same amount of energy consumption as the entire south west. I'm sure BHP,rio and Roy hill will all have to follow suit pretty soon.
