Easy to insult Native Americans until they beat you in court (as the Hualapai did with a major railroad, in the last century). The protests Monday were part of a state-wide effort by high school students, off for the Presidents Day holiday, to protest in several locations on several issues. The Apache protests about the Resolution copper mine, east of Phoenix, made the newspapers and TV. Lunch counters were integrated back in the 1960s and 1970s when a handful of Black students sat down where they were not welcome -- if you don't like that tradition, you probably won't like young Native Americans learning how to capture media attention either.
White people like you think that you have the right to take photos of anyone, anywhere. Media photographers ask for permission, and often there are those who don't want to see their picture posted on some website 6,000 miles away. The Hualapai tribe leases land from BLM for cattle grazing, as do non-Indian ranchers around Wikieup as well. In Australia they apparently use Land Rovers to round up cattle, but some of the work in Arizona is done on horseback. Go ahead and continue those insults. BLM charges below-market grazing fees, and that's an issue with many Americans regardless of the race of the beneficiaries. But they charge zero for mining royalties, so the government will lose money if land is taken out of ranching. Granted, cattle emissions are somewhat greater than those of Aussie miners.
