Solid-state batteries are the future for bringing the cost of batteries below the $100/kWh. Research is only just in the initial stages with prototypes in development. But it won't be for another 10 years, that this technology will be available for the EV market.
So Lithium-ion, or Li-ion, is and will continue to be the most prolific battery technology for the next decade.
