Hydrogeologist here- 30 years experience in mining water management in 20 countries. Never worked in Az but I wouldn't expect a Govt agency to release info like this. I would expect a challenge on groundwater impacts which are likely to be limited in drilling but may be more significant in mining. I would expect that to be considered in the approval and BLM to set conditions accordingly. If AZL and our consultants are switched on, they will piggyback the hydro investigation off the exploration driling ie collect hydro data at the same time and complete some bores as groundwater monitoring points. That will save money & time, and get some good baseline data so when we go for mining approval the uncertainty is reduced and we have data to back up our assumptions and monitor any impacts.
