I have seen the top 20 investors in AZL and the highest percentage, more than 4%, are custodians for nominees. These are companies with major business in Hong Kong, like Citibank and HSBC (you do know what the H and S once stood for?). It's clear from the recent dilutions that the managers for sale of discount shares are brokers with Chinese connections. What I find amusing is the hypocrisy of Australians trying to convince Americans not to do business with the country that is their own biggest trading partner.
