I believe the US is waking up and the geo politics will force their hand. The EV revolution is here to stay and the future car industry will only be EV's, therefore a shift in policy will come. The US can not and will not allow China to control and monopolise the supply chain.
The US is facing a huge challenge in Taiwan and China will end up taking back Taiwan which will lose the microchip industry to China. The Chinese are decades ahead and the US has a lot of catching up to do. Gas guzzlers are out
