Chinese EV's aren't being sold in the US. Batteries are cheaper to produce in Latin America, which can now compete with China. And remember how Trump imposed a 25 percent tariff on imports of Canadian steel and a 10 percent tariff on imports of Canadian aluminum under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act, which relates to perceived effect of imports on U.S. national security. What he did for steel and aluminum then, he can do for lithium next year.
