GHANA-focused gold explorer Azumah Resources has discovered two new zones of gold mineralisation at its Wa-Lawra gold project, with investors driving the company's share price up 12% this morning.
The stock gained 2.5c and hit an intraday high of 23.5c after the company announced the two new gold zones were discovered 300m east of the 500,000-ounce Kunche gold deposit.
Azumha said the gold zones had the potential to repeat the Kunche-style mineralisation and increase resources in the area.
The drill program of five-wide spaced reverse circulation drill holes returned near surface gold mineralisation.
Results included 4m at 1.32 grams per tonne gold from 7m and 7m at 1.49gpt gold from 65m (ended in mineralisation), 1m at 14.7gpt gold from surface, 1m at 1.25gpt gold from 6m and 3m at 0.94gpt gold from 61m, 2m at 1gpt gold from 22m, 2m at 1.08gpt gold from 11m and 1m at 1.03gpt gold from 19m, 3m at 10.9gpt gold from 21m including 1m at 28.9gpt gold from 22m.
Meanwhile, follow-up air core drilling at Doggo North and Yagha South deposits, north of Kunche, has upgraded and extended the previously defined gold zones.
Seven additional RC holes and two extensions to holes were drilled at Doggo North with results including 2m at 1.34gpt gold from 71m, 6m at 1.89gpt gold from 49m and 3m at 3.39gpt gold from 60m, 1m at 2.94gpt gold from 31m, 4m at 0.91gpt gold from 58m including 2m at 1.31gpt gold from 60m.
The mineralisation at Doggo North has been extended to a continuous strike length of over 800m with further in-fill drilling required to investigate the full extent of the mineralisation at Doggo North.
The company said the first-pass air core and reverse circulation drilling at other prospects including Nanga had intersected further gold mineralisation.
Azumah is planning for the next drill campaign at Wa-Lawra which will look to extend the Kunche resource along strike and at depth, extend the Kunche East discovery and infill drill the Doggo North prospect.
