On a side note, I was talking with my Uber driver today, he was actually a FIFO worker driving Uber in between jobs. Coincidentally, it turns out he was part of an overland conveyor project at FMG'S Cloudbreak Iron Ore mine. He said it was 20km's of overland conveyor and took 10 months from start to finish.
After the ride, I looked into it more, and it turns out it was actually 4.8 km's of conveyor, not 20km's. The info said it was 1,500t of steel fabricated for the project. Going by this timeline of completion, it would take 13 years to construct 80km's, unless you could throw a larger workforce at it to complete faster, but you would still need the materials and parts. And also, there's no significant pre-existing infrastructure at Winu for help with the logistics for a project of this scale, so would add significantly to the timeline completion.
