The way i see it, and it is not always correct, as i do look through rose tinted glasses.
As with Newmont taking over Newcrest...all rights, JV, and AZY holding went with them.
If Newmont sells the holding companies of Telfer/Havieron, well those JV rights and AZY Holding would go to the acquirer.
I can't see any acquirer wanting to buy Telfer/Havieron (as it is one package) and not insisting that they get their hands on the AZY holding and the JV rights.
No logical buyer would go ahead unless you can get your hands on more exploration tenure that is close to Telfer and more importantly a holding/foothold/choke hold on an extremely important asset of AZY that can help feed Telfer imminently and offer that near by blue sky exploration

Newmont may earn a 51% interest in the Wilki Project tenements by funding A$16M of exploration by March 2025 (consisting of A$6M of exploration before March 2022 (Stage 1, which it has done) and a further A$10M of exploration before March 2025 (Stage 2).
Time will tell, but AZY is a very very important part of Telfer being feed, Havieron can't do it at max 3mtpa
I love these games, just need to commoditise it now in some form or another.
