What a ridiculous kneejerk reaction. It only makes sense to anyone who rarely goes out or just goes to the pubs which tend to shut early anyway.

Point 1
As a former DJ in a Sydney club who started at 3am and sometimes 5.30 am, how does that work. Different clubs have different DJ's and types of music at different times, so many would move around from club to club depending on who they wanted to hear. 90% of the patrons in those clubs are not drunk.

Point 2.
Yet another setback for the live music industry which has had everything thrown at it. In order for places to make ends meet hiring acts to play, they rely on staying open so the bar take can cover the costs. Acts don't start till 11 most times.

Point 3.
The latest coward punch story was at 9pm and the guy wasn't that drunk.
