    Goodie I agree wholeheartedly.

    Enough is enough.

    The government's argument would probably be that they can't afford to house anymore criminals in jails because that costs a lot of money and the jails are full.

    The Justice system largely works by intimidation. Because if everyone decided to just do whatever they want, there wouldn't be enough cops or jails to house everyone.

    It is supposed to make examples out of those who do crimes to deter others into not doing those crimes.

    But when the penalties are not stiff enough, people just commit crimes because they know they will get away with it and so the system breaks down.

    "Oh I'll probably just get a suspended sentence anyway"....
