Many young people don't have respect for others, many older folk do not have respect for others. Many corporations do not have respect for others. Many of our politicians do not have respect for others. You get the pattern?

Our society has become dysfunctional as we have adopted a hard-nosed economic attitude to life and relegated our humanistic attributes to second place. Have you noticed that many people care less about others and only about themselves? Not just young people, but all ages. Every strategy people here suggest has been tried elsewhere and failed. The US has more violence and tougher laws than here.
If you want a softer society,you need to question our adherance to neoliberal ideology. It compromises human decency from the top to the bottom.
