Can anybody enlighten me on the following;-
I understand that in using CVM you have to create a vacuum in the sensor. From what I have interpreted, you have to do this each time you do an inspection test.
My question is, once a vacuum has been established, why would that vacuum not remain & not have to be re-created.
The reason for this, is that cracks may occur when under stress but close when the aircraft has landed & there is no stress. It may be that this crack is therefore not detected by visible inspection. A CVM sensor with a vacuum previously established would detect the crack which only occurs during flight while under stress.
If I am correct in the above assumption, would that not prove to be a major advantage in the use of CVM sensors ?
