baby boomer theory

I had a brain wave (heheh) on the weekend. I believe we will start to see more authoritarian/draconian Government as more and more Baby Boomers head into retirement. They currently own 53% ish of national wealth, and it's not going to be as easy for their children / grand children.

For BB's to continue the good life, they will need Government to be on their side, which will be the case, since their in power. What does a BB care, they have had it so good for so long, why would they be willing to change in the national interest.

Not sure exactly how this would map out. Anyone got an opinion on this, except for grumpy old men...heheheh
