"the" = denoting one or more people or things already mentioned or assumed to be common knowledge.

Take out the "the" and you have, "...and God was Word.

Psa 33:6 By the word of Yahweh were the heavens made and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.


His words are also Spirit John 6:63.

OT verses..................Spirit of Yahweh said unto me,.........the word of Yahweh said unto me.
Spirit/Word are interchanged.
One in the same speaker = Yahweh.

Gen - And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit -> (Word) of God moved upon the face of the waters.
And God -> (Word) said, Let there be light: and there was light.

God is light............1 John 1:5.
God is Word.


1 Tim 6:16 - Who (Jesus) only hath immortality (because), dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

From the beginning to now, there has been a war of words.
For anyone to suggest that 'word' is not the key and key theme in the Bible and the key for interpreting every message, imo, they better seek help LOL.

A bit like real estate, location, location, location = Word x 3.
OR, all roads lead to Rome...............lead to Word, communications.

Word = Door -> House/Kingdom -> Head.
(Man is or was, the image of).
The house (bosom J 1:18) Jesus is dwelling in above.
God's word is also light,.......hence it could be said, the light Jesus is dwelling in = the word of God.
