    Don't mean to insult you, Astral, but that is one hell of an ignorant post. For a start you are not talking about back burns, you are talking about low intensity, fuel reduction burns, or prescribed burns. Ground fuel loads in Australian forests can accumulate to upwards of 20 tone per acre, consisting of bark, leaves, dry grass and general detritus, which goats would not generally eat. If you are referring to aboriginal people as cavemen please consider that they were, and in some areas still are, consummate natural resource managers who taught us how to proficiently manage this land with "fire-stick" technology in order to prevent high intensity, killer fires.
