Well technically speaking, the size of the middle class population isn't shrinking, but rather it is growing up to an eventual point at which the number would plateau. The thing is though, the increase is driven purely by urbanization and not by the increase in new births. When it comes to A2M, the total number of births within the cohorts where most of its customers are concentrated, is key. To illustrate the point further, imagine we have 1000 babies and all of them are customers of A2M. Regardless of how rich their parents are, those babies would consume, give or take, the same number of tins.
Eventually, China's overall population number is going to shrink as it becomes fully industrialised.
