back surgery

Hey guys.

Does anyone on here have any first hand experience of lower back surgery, specifically discectomy/fusion at the L5/S1 level.

After nearly 20 years of putting up with lower back pain and sciatica, I've finally had enough.

It would be done by a Neurosurgeon, and might involve going in from the front, as well as the back.

Sounds scary, might not fix the problem, and might make it worse.

Any replies would be much appreciated.
