You make a good point but you have not allowed for the fact that there is manipulation going on and on a grand scale. Nor do you take into account the unfair advantage that the bot trading has in relation to the "ordinary" investor. Combine the ability to short, the ability to use bot trading and the intention to manipulate the market and you have a scheme to scam and milk the normal investor.
Don't tell me this isn't happening.
