Well I can well and truly say now I've actually forgotten how long it's been since this case started.
Would have to be pushing 802 days surely?
Not to mention the damn payday loans legislation changes yet to be announced, at least that has given some reprieve I suppose as that's one area still actually making money at the moment, can't seem to make any money with anything Auto, how shit must the loan assessments have been for bad debts in that area to climb so high so quickly?
No wonder they were winning market share so quickly!
If they can tidy up the Auto segment and keep on track in the MACC segment even when (yes WHEN) the payday lending segment is wound down this should still pump out some pretty good earnings 2021 even if the result in CA is bad.
On a good result it just becomes a matter of what to do with the spare capital?
One way or another some capital return must come into play, personally my preference would be half decent sized buyback then announce from next half onward expecting to pay dividends.
Then when the company is re-rated conduct a capital raising to "reduce debt" and pay out a bloody big dividend, then do this each year until franking credits are consumed, ie; buyback to load up on debt and issue to reduce debt, of course not purely for the purpose of tax effective returns to the shareholders Mr ATO, just business as usual decisions
Knowing our luck though it would end in another Class Action!
