gse, that's excactly why I'm investigating.... internet speed has caused many updates to fail as one of the interested parties in my update downloads cut the download(s) after an hour and then it gets restarted BUT that is only half the story, there is also the increase in "normal" uploads and downloads.
There are ways of recording all packets and I've been doing that for a while now and slowly working out what is going on.
Aka.... noticed that they seem to be used for some product updates Cabalaine.... I have no malware - wondering about some of the paid software I have though...
