Very unlikely that an ICE stalls due to lack of oxygen in the air from a nearby fire. Usually a vehicle stops because the driver can't see the road ahead, runs into an obstruction or both. After it stops in the path of a fire things often go from bad to worse and later on the casual observer makes the assumption that the vehicle stalled when that is rarely the case.
