This is the property forum so we tend to look at issue affecting property. But if you want to look at the whole system, let’s. What other sectors of the national economy have negative gearing claims the size of what the property sector claims?
Those billions in claims, or result reduction in tax revenue means governments have to taxed higher other people or other parts of the economy to cover the shortfall in tax revenue needed to provide services expected by the populous.
Now i have nothing against claiming loses. Perfectly legit and is needed no arguments from me on that front. However, I think there are other ways it can be done as other examples in the world has shown us.
